z/OS CSI Software Fixes

Reliant

NOTE: Router (VSAM OPEN/CLOSE Routing Facility) is an independent component of Override and has its own fixes that may need to be applied.

Release: 1.0B
  • An S0C4 abend in CSIRECOV may occur while processing the PCCA control block.
    expand_more

    FIX: 1.0B-01

    SYMPTOM:

An S0C4 abend in CSIRECOV may occur while processing the PCCA control block.

Starting with z/OS 1.12, the IBM default configuration is to allocate the PCCA control block in 31-bit storage.

CSIRECOV runs AMODE 24 and cannot access the control block when this configuration is used.

Since CSIRECOV does not require CSIOPSMD to obtain the CPU-ID field (PGACPUID), this process can be bypassed.

This fix bypasses the use of the PCCA control block.

    RESOLUTION:

    Apply the following zap:

    NAME CSIRECOV CSIOPSMD

    VER 0D24 4780C2E8

    REP 0D24 47F0C318

    FIX: 1.0B-02

    SYMPTOM:

An S0C4 abend in CSIJRNL may occur while processing the PCCA control block.

Starting with z/OS 1.12, the IBM default configuration is to allocate the PCCA control block in 31-bit storage.

CSIJNRL runs AMODE 24 and cannot access the control block when this configuration is used.

Since CSIJRNL does not require CSIOPSMD to obtain the CPU-ID field (PGACPUID), this process can be bypassed.

This fix bypasses the use of the PCCA control block.

    RESOLUTION:

    Apply the following zap:
